Located in the heart of foodie-central Katong, with old school eateries and trendy cafes at its doorstep, Feast Roxy holds its own with it’s enticing menu and gracious hospitality.
Situated on Level 3 of the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy hotel, this bright and beautiful cafe is also a lounge where guests can enjoy a tipple or two.

Some Highlights on the Ala Carte Menu
Having had lunch here once, I can personally vouch for their Divine Laksa River Prawn ($18). It features a prawn, almost as large as your head, swimming on top of a coconut rich, flavourful broth. I guarantee, you will be slurping up every last drop.
Other items on their ala carte menu that caught my eye include the Rendang Duck Meets Hainan Toast ($15), their wagyu beef burger with avocado, bacon, mushroom, cheese and fried egg served with a side of waffle fries ($25) and K-Pop Wings with spicy marinade ($14).
The Weekend Brunch is Value For Money
As inviting as the ala carte dishes were, we opted to save our appetites for the weekend brunch. We got to try the weekend brunch as part of our sponsored staycation at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy.
For $58++ you can eat all you want with free-flow fresh juices and soya bean milk (it is $29++ for children) between 11.30am – 3.30pm. I opted for the free flow of beer and wine at $88++.
We started our brunch with the Signature Seafood Platter. You get only one serving of this but it is such a generous portion. While the selection of seafood served may change due to availability, you can be assured that it will be fresh.
On our visit at the end of February 2022, we were treated to fresh oysters, cooked prawns, chilli crab and black pepper lobster. The sauce was finger-licking good!
Order As Much As Your Heart Desires
With the Covid 19 pandemic ongoing, buffets are no longer spread out in all its glory for diners to fill their own plates. Instead, you order from a menu what your heart desires and it’s cooked for you on the spot.
I actually prefer it this way as it prevents unnecessary wastage, allows you to pace yourself and eat more mindfully and, best of all, ensures the food is served fresh out of the kitchen.
UPDATE: Self-service buffets have returned in full force as of 30 April 2022
The menu includes breakfast options which my husband Matthew enjoyed. He loved the egg benedict served on brioche as well as the crispy prata with fried egg.
There are also vegetarian dishes for the more health-conscious and soups to warm your belly. But our buffet strategy (you’ve got to have one!) was to zone in on the Asian fare and meats.
We had two helpings of the Classic Grilled Steak with Beef Jus and Bearnaise Sauce which was well-seasoned and tender. I also recommend topping up on the Confit Duck Leg with Orange Sauce and of course the Divine Laksa with Prawn (my fave).
For kids (not that we have any), the Chicken Lollipop with Warm Nacho Cheese will keep them happy. I, on the other hand, made merry with more house-pour red and a cheese platter of camembert, cheddar and comte.
Other Delicious Highlights!
On top of all the delicious offerings on their buffet menu (like the Braised Pork Belly Infused Buah Keluak Sauce, a Peranakan staple), you can also look forward to the Chef’s Noodle of the Month (it was Mee Rebus when we were there). We were also surprised by a mobile station serving Caesars Salad with dressing made from scratch right at our table.
Save Space for Dessert!
While you will relish sampling and savouring as much as your bellies can handle, be sure to save space for dessert! You won’t want to miss the famous Feast Durian Power. I’m told this durian pengat is what buffet lovers come for.
Before Covid changed life as we know it, you would have to rush to the buffet line to get your share. Many would be left disappointed as this fragrant durian concoction would run out so quickly! Now you can sit back and enjoy being served endless portions of this local delight! It is ironically more my American husband’s weakness than mine, but even I could not stop at one bite!
Durian’s sweet pungency is an acquired taste for many. However, in this dessert it is mellowed by the rich coconut milk and served chilled, like a decadent soft serve. Simply divine!
This Weekend Brunch deal at Feast Roxy, Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is an absolute steal and East Coast’s best kept secret. The service is attentive, prompt and friendly. And the food is just out of this world.
If you are planning to make a beeline for Feast Roxy’s Weekend Brunch, remember to come hungry! There is much to tantalise your taste buds with and satisfy any cravings.
